In this video, Gerard Beckerleg – Solution Architect at SSW – is asked by Adam Cogan what he thinks are the various dysfunctions developers have when they use Scrum.
Gerard gives his 3 top pain points he sees for developers using the Scrum methodology:
- Teams taking on extra tasks mid-sprint (given by the Product Owner)
- Teams who are not clear on the Acceptance Criteria
- Daily Scrums(standup) – Teams turn these short 10-15 minute synchronization meetings into long ‘show and tell’ meetings (see this video on Microsoft doing Daily Standups)
Plus Adam throws in his own favourite dysfunction that he sees teams facing when using Scrum:
- Teams not preparing before the Sprint Review
At the end of the video, Gerard gives some insights into how you can save a project from going south when using Scrum.
