In this “Ask Me Anything” session, SSW’s Liam Elliott interviews Jennifer Marsman and Tim Huckaby during NDC Sydney 2017.

Together, they talk about the state of machine learning. They discuss the projects that Jennifer and Tim have worked on, the reasons that machine learning is so hot right now and why machine learning on the edge is necessary.

As usual with NDC, there was a host of top industry pros talking about various subjects related to software development. SSW TV was there to run the ‘Ask Me Anything’ booth, where we grabbed some of those speakers after their sessions and talked about a number of topics.

Liam Elliott is a Senior Software Architect with SSW. He is a certified Professional Scrum Master with experience across the media, telecommunications, foreign exchange, and HR sectors.

Jennifer Marsman is passionate about machine learning and big data and using EEG and ML to perform lie detection. She is employed as a Developer Evangelist for Microsoft.

Tim Huckaby is a Microsoft Regional Director, a Microsoft MVP and serves on many Microsoft councils and boards like the Microsoft .NET Partner Advisory Council. Tim is focused on the Natural User Interface (NUI)- Touch, Gesture, and Neural in Rich Client Technologies like HTML5, Silverlight, WPF, & IOS on a broad spectrum of devices that include computers, tablets, the Surface, the Kinect, and mobile devices.
